247 - Flying
I'm flying. Okay, I'm doing 50 kph and it feels like I'm flying. The wind makes satisfying whistling noises and the joyful honks of scooters, cars, and melodious tunes from garbage trucks add to the din. I am smiling despite the risk of bugs in my teeth. The dotted yellow and white lines slip past me in a satisfying rush. What a pleasant excursion it has become to drive UG across town to go to Bible study.

Yesterday marks the occasion of my longest scooter drive. 30 minutes by myself across town to my friend's house in Dapinglin. It's another one of the suburbs of Taipei that is only distinguished as different because it lies across a river. The trip used to take me an hour on the bus. You can not imagine the sense of freedom that lies in my tiny little 50CC girl. I am so pleased to have wheels again. I'm sure I'll come to dislike driving in the rain etc. but for now I am blissfully happy to have the oil-burning, fume-belching, rough riding scooter at my disposal.
