I can hardly believe it, but I'm coming back. Back to the thousands of smog belching scooters, murderous taxis and bouncing blue trucks; back to the constant milling and bumping of the MRT; back to the cockroaches, the smell of durian, the sweltering painful heat. And I'm excited! My mind is racing with the many things that I'd like to see and do in my 2 week sojourn. The people I want to catch up with and the purchases that I want to make at the stationary store are tossed together in this messy jumble in my head.

Outside my window the first buds of spring are making the chokecherry and willow trees begin to turn green. However, the giant aspens and cottonwoods are still somber brown sticks that blow in the wind. My neighbors have begun to water their lawns which makes me almost ashamed of the patchy brown scruff that meets my eye out front. I look forward to a joyous return to UGH and zipping down the Taipei streets once more in an abandon to sanity.
